Centennial Celebration

Volunteers Needed

An event the size of the CST Centennial doesn’t come together overnight.   It involves months of planning and coordination.   The Centennial Committee was formed in June 2005 when 16 Teresans answered the call for volunteers.   They met in the Tea House and heard from Executive Director Colleen Kocer Peplinski ’87 of the preliminary planning already done, more than two years before the anticipated date.   At the end of the meeting, three Teresans, Kathryn Bennett Beatty '67, Bridget Doyle '63, and Kissie Noll Larson '74, volunteered to serve as Co-Chairs.  They have been meeting monthly to outline plans for the event, gather and assess ideas, and establish sub-committees to be responsible for specific activities.

The committee has identified areas where they need additional help from the Teresan community.  Please contact the Alumnae Office if you can help with any of the following pre-Centennial needs:

  • Contributing CST memorabilia
  • Contributing memories of a deceased alum
  • Contributing art work
  • Providing printing services
  • Arranging optional Winona activities (e.g. golf, a riverboat cruise, a tour of the Watkins facility)

A highlight of any reunion weekend is always the celebration of Mass in the Chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels.  If you would like to be a part of Saturday's Mass, please fill out this  Liturgy Volunteer Form  and send it to the Alumnae Office.  Your help is appreciated!!

There will also be many other volunteer opportunities during the weekend itself.  We will need greeters, musicians, hosts, and other volunteers for events such as:

  • Set-up
  • Check-in
  • Meals
  • Campus tours
  • Parade of Classes
  • Opening Reception
  • Rochester bus trip
  • 1001 Donuts
  • Clean-up

Your Centennial Registration Brochure, which you should receive soon, will include sign-up forms for volunteer activities.  Remember that  "Many hands make light the work."   If everyone can spend just a small part of the weekend helping out, then everyone will have plenty of time for socializing and enjoying.
